Used Complete Rear Axle for Tractor

57 available products

When a rear axle suffers structural damage or multiple internal components fail simultaneously, replacing the entire assembly is often quicker and more cost-effective than repairing part by part. TMC Bejenne removes complete rear axles from end-of-life or accident-damaged tractors, inspects them in our workshop, and lists them on our Naintré site in the Vienne region. These parts are part of our used rear axle range.

What a Complete Rear Axle Includes

On an agricultural tractor, the rear axle is much more than a simple axle. It combines the final drive and part of the braking system within a single housing. A disassembled assembly typically includes the central housing and its axle nose, which houses the drive pinion, the bevel gear set, and the differential, the two axle tubes (trumpets) with their wheel shafts, the reduction gears when included in the design, as well as the integrated braking mechanisms and, depending on the model, the power take-off (PTO).

This integration justifies the appeal of a full replacement. On a machine with a cracked rear axle housing, ovalized axle tube bearings, or a bevel gear set damaged by lack of oil, repairing each component individually quickly leads to a cost exceeding that of a tested used axle. Workshop time is as costly as parts: removing a rear axle is a heavy operation best done only once.

Repair or Replace the Entire Assembly?

  • A housing that is cracked, pierced, or deformed after impact or bogging down.
  • A destroyed bevel gear set, with substantial metal debris in the oil.
  • Multiple components affected simultaneously: differential, brakes, bearings, axle tubes.
  • An older machine for which internal parts are no longer available new.
  • Downtime in the middle of the season, where timing is critical.
  • A repair estimate exceeding the machine’s residual value.

Conversely, if diagnostics isolate a single part, such as a bearing, seal, or brake disc, a targeted repair remains preferable. Our specialized technicians have no interest in selling you the whole assembly if a single part suffices: other rear axle components are also available individually.

Complete Rear Axles Available at TMC Bejenne

TMC Bejenne’s catalog of complete rear axles mainly comes from tractors, with some assemblies from combines and telehandlers. Each axle is removed, inspected by our specialized technicians, then referenced with the brand, model, and year of the original machine, the manufacturer’s part number found on the housing, and our internal reference. For a component of this importance, traceability is the most reliable foundation for confirming compatibility. The most represented brands are New Holland, Case IH, Deutz-Fahr, and Renault, followed by Claas, Ford, Fiat, Kubota, and Massey Ferguson.

Used Tractor Parts Case IH: Available Rear Axles

Case IH is among the best represented brands in this category, with assemblies from a wide range, from the 1455 XL to Maxxum and Puma models, including the CS and MXU. As with all used Case IH tractor parts, searches start with the commercial type and year: on these series, axle ratios, presence of differential locks, or epicyclic reducers may vary within the same commercial designation. Some axles are also similar to those fitted on McCormick tractors of the same generation: only the housing reference confirms this.

Used Tractor Spare Parts Massey Ferguson

Complete rear axles from Massey Ferguson, notably from 4255, 5435, and 6612 models, are part of the stock depending on arrivals. The brand is one we dismantle regularly: the used Massey Ferguson tractor parts stock is thus regularly replenished across all categories. If the complete assembly you need is not listed, a quote request allows us to verify machines currently being dismantled.

Used Front Tractor Axle: Don't Confuse the Two Axles

Many searches for a “complete axle” actually refer to the front axle. The two components have different functions and designs: the rear axle carries the main load and incorporates braking, while the front axle provides additional traction and steering, with its kingpins and transfer case. If you need the front axle, check our used front tractor axle range and its complete front axles. Choosing a front axle from John Deere or Case IH requires the same care as a rear axle: exact model, year, axle ratio, and braking configuration.

Identifying the Correct Rear Axle

Note the exact model and serial number

The commercial type is not enough: during a series, manufacturers may modify the housing, axle tube mountings, or final drive. The machine’s serial number is the most discriminating information. If the original housing still bears the manufacturer’s part number, provide it: it resolves most ambiguities.

Verify axle ratio and configuration

An axle that looks identical but has a different ratio changes travel speeds and compatibility with the transmission. Also specify whether there is a differential lock, the type of integrated braking, and the type of wheel reducers.

Clarify what’s included in the delivery

Depending on the dismantling, an assembly may be offered with or without certain peripherals, such as axle tubes, brakes, or PTO. Drawing on their expertise, our advisors detail exactly what is included and the good condition of the stock reference, supported by photos, before sending a quote. You then know what to keep from your current axle.

Removal and Installation: What to Prepare

  • A suitable lifting device: a complete rear axle weighs several hundred kilos.
  • Reliable machine support throughout the operation.
  • Prior oil draining and oil recovery from the axle.
  • Systematic inspection of flanges, seals, and contact surfaces on both the axle nose and axle tubes.
  • Checking alignment with the transmission and drive shaft.
  • Refilling with recommended oil specification, followed by a leak check after a few hours of operation.

Price of a Used Complete Rear Axle

We do not display prices for this category for a simple reason: two rear axles with the same name may be offered at vastly different levels based on brand, machine power, axle ratio, presence of brakes, and condition upon dismantling. The “Request a Quote” button on each reference triggers a detailed response from our advisors, who also specify delivery terms. You can also ask for a callback or contact us at 05 86 24 00 26.

Agricultural Tractor Breaking: Organized Dismantling by TMC Bejenne

Not all agricultural tractor break yards operate the same way. On our 11-hectare site in Naintré, each machine entering dismantling is inventoried component by component: the complete rear axle is removed, inspected, photographed, and referenced with the history of the original machine. This organization makes it possible to find, months later, a specific assembly for a given series rather than searching through unsorted stock.

  • Expertise in used agricultural spare parts since 1945.
  • Over 25,000 part numbers in permanent stock.
  • Parts inspected in workshop by specialized technicians with full traceability.
  • Advisors available at 05 86 24 00 26 to verify references with you.

Other Rear Axle Component Groups

If diagnostics do not justify a full exchange, find in the used rear axle range the individual groups: axle tubes (trumpets), reducers, rear axle housing, differential, or power take-off. You can also browse stock by manufacturer: New Holland, Case IH, Deutz-Fahr, Renault, Claas, Ford, Fiat, Kubota, Massey Ferguson, or John Deere.

From a specialist in dismantling who inspects and references their assemblies. TMC Bejenne removes complete rear axles from tractors such as New Holland, Case IH, Renault, or Massey Ferguson, among others. Call 05 86 24 00 26 with your machine’s model and serial number: we check availability and compatibility.

Yes, if the rest of the axle is in good condition. A cracked axle tube (trumpet), a worn differential, or a fatigued bearing can be replaced individually. Replacing the entire axle is mainly justified when the housing is damaged or multiple components are compromised simultaneously.

The axle nose refers to the front part of the central housing, on the transmission side, which contains the drive pinion of the bevel gear set. Its seals, bearings, and contact surfaces must be checked when installing a complete rear axle, as this is the connection to the transmission.

Sometimes, within the same tractor family or manufacturer group, such as Case IH and New Holland. But the axle ratio, axle tube mountings, and braking must match. Provide the housing reference to our technicians: they confirm compatibility before making any offer.
