Used combine harvester feed auger

11 available products

A harvest clogging in front of the conveyor, spirals crushed by a stone, retractable fingers that no longer extend: when the feeder auger of the header wears out, the entire combine harvester throughput suffers. TMC Bejenne removes the feeder augers from headers taken apart in Naintré, complete with their fingers, bearings, and drives. Each auger is inspected in our workshop and sold at a reduced price. Related parts are available in our ranges for reel conditioners, header gearboxes, and variable drives, all part of the header family.

Used agricultural auger: the header feeder auger

The feeder auger is an agricultural auger mounted across the full width of the header. Its spirals, left-handed on one side and right-handed on the other, bring the cut crop towards the center. In the middle, retractable fingers grab the crop and push it towards the conveyor, which feeds the threshing drum. The auger's height, clearance from the cutter bar, and finger extension are adjusted depending on the crop. A well-adjusted auger ensures a steady feed, without clogging or losses.

Used combine harvester augers available at TMC Bejenne

  • Case IH: header augers for models 1030 and Axial-Flow 2388.
  • John Deere: augers for models 620 R, 622 R, 816, and 818, for John Deere combines.
  • New Holland: augers for TX 66.
  • Massey Ferguson: header augers for model 1030; Laverda: augers for 3700.
  • Complete header augers with their retractable fingers and bearings, depending on dismantlings.

Feed augers for Case IH, John Deere, Claas Dominator, and Lexion

Each manufacturer designs its auger according to the header width and machine throughput. On Case IH headers from series 1000 and 2000, the auger can be removed with its side bearings. John Deere combines use headers with augers that have fingers along the entire length or only at the center, depending on the generation. At Claas, the augers for Dominator and Lexion headers differ in diameter and drive type: an auger for a Dominator and one for a Lexion are not interchangeable without verification. Be sure to check the header width, auger diameter, and header reference before ordering.

Feed auger: key inspection points

  • Straightness of the tube and absence of warping along its entire length.
  • Condition of the spirals: edge wear, deformation, repair welds.
  • Retractable fingers, guides, and the crankshaft that controls the fingers.
  • Bearings, rollers, and drive gear or pulley.
  • Width, diameter, and spiral pitch, specific to each header.

Retractable fingers and drive of the feed auger

The retractable fingers extend from the front side of the tube to grab the crop, then retract on the conveyor side to release it. They rotate on a fixed crankshaft offset from the auger axis and run through plastic or bronze guides that wear over time. The drive is by chain or belt, with a torque limiter to protect the auger in case of clogging. On John Deere, Case IH, or Claas combines—from Dominator to Lexion—these parts can be replaced individually if the tube and spirals are in good condition.

Signs of a worn feed auger

  • Repeated blockages in front of the conveyor, especially during heavy harvests.
  • Irregular feeding in clumps, causing fluctuations in threshing drum load.
  • Friction noises between the spirals and the cutter bar floor.
  • Broken, bent, or stuck fingers in their guides.
  • Torque limiter slipping too often.

Grain augers: hopper and unloading augers

Not to be confused with the header feeder auger, grain augers transport clean grain inside the machine: hopper bottom augers, elevator augers, and unloading augers. They are part of our grain transport range, which includes grain augers and unloading augers. If you’re looking for an auger for a combine and are unsure about its location, give us the brand, model, and part position—our technicians will help you identify it.

Price of a used feed auger

  • The price depends on the header width, brand, and condition of the spirals and fingers.
  • A genuine used feed auger costs significantly less than a brand-new manufacturer part.
  • Original parts match the exact dimensions and fittings of the header.
  • Since 1945, TMC Bejenne inspects every auger on its 11-hectare site, with 25,000 references of used agricultural equipment.
  • Shipping is arranged according to the auger's length; request a quote at 05 86 24 00 26.

It moves the cut crop from both sides of the header towards the center, then its retractable fingers push it into the conveyor. Without a feeder auger in good condition, feeding becomes irregular: clogging, losses at the header ends, and reduced harvesting throughput.

First, adjust the auger's height relative to the cutter bar floor: low for cereals, higher for rapeseed or heavy crops. Then adjust the retractable fingers so they grasp the crop without pushing it forward. Follow the manufacturer's guidelines for your header.

A feed auger is often between 4 and 9 meters long. Shipping is by long pallet or dedicated transport, after confirming compatibility. Pickup in Naintré is also possible. Call 05 86 24 00 26 for a quote including transport.
