Used Combine Harvester Complete Thresher Cylinder
35 available products
When beaters are worn down to the metal, shafts develop play, or a beater vibrates due to a foreign object: the threshing component weakens, grain stays in the ears, and losses soar. TMC Bejenne removes complete threshers from combine harvesters being dismantled in Naintré, inspects them in our workshop, and offers them at reduced prices along with all used threshing parts. Each complete thresher is linked to its original machine: brand, model, and year of manufacture.

Thresher, concave and beaters: the heart of combine harvester threshing
On conventional combine harvesters, the thresher is a cylinder fitted with grooved beaters rotating at high speed above the concave, a curved grate also called a basket. The crop flow passes between the two: the beaters strike and rub the ears of grain, the grain passes through the basket, and the straw moves towards the straw walkers. The clearance between the thresher and concave and the cylinder speed are adjusted according to the crop type. A complete thresher includes the cylinder, its beaters, shaft, bearings, and pulley — the entire assembly delivered as one unit.
Complete thresher or beaters alone?
- Regularly worn beaters: a set of thresher beaters and mounts often suffices.
- Scored shaft or worn bearings: check the thresher shaft separately.
- Deformed concave: replace the concave and grate together with the thresher.
- Unstable speed: inspect the thresher variator and the thresher reducer.
- Warped cylinder, torn beaters, or cracked fastenings: a complete thresher avoids re-aligning each part individually.
Balancing and inspection: TMC Bejenne’s expertise
A thresher spins at several hundred revolutions per minute with a substantial mass: any imbalance wears bearings, strains the combine’s drive, and causes vibrations throughout the body. Before sale, our technical teams apply their expertise to balancing: they check the shaft’s straightness, the condition of the beaters and their mountings, and the cylinder’s star plates for cracks. Every complete thresher is original manufacturer’s equipment, never assembled from compatible parts. Since 1945, this technical know-how is backed by an 11-hectare site in Naintré, where our stock of threshing parts sits alongside 25,000 references of used tractor and combine harvester parts.
Combine harvester brands: used complete threshers
- New Holland : threshers for TX 34, 36, 64, 66, and 67, TF 44, 76, and 78, and CX 860 models.
- Claas Lexion 450, 600, and 760: original complete threshers, depending on disassembly availability.
- John Deere : threshers for models 1166, 1550, 2064, and 2066, from straw walker combines still common on farms.
- Laverda : threshers for L521 and 3600.
- Massey Ferguson : thresher for 7270.
Used vintage or small combine harvesters: finding the right thresher
For vintage combine harvesters, such as a Claas Dominator, new threshers often aren’t produced anymore: a used complete original manufacturer’s thresher remains the solution to keep the machine operational. Small combines with four or five straw walkers, common on medium-sized farms, have neither the width nor drum diameter of large machines made for vast fields: the cutter bar width already gives an indication. Provide us with the exact model, year of manufacture, operating hours if known, and the crop types harvested: cereal grains, rapeseed, maize, or sunflower all wear the beaters differently.
Thresher or rotor: threshing technologies
- Straw walker machines (New Holland TX, TF, and CX; John Deere W and T series): a transverse thresher and concave.
- Hybrid machines, such as Claas Lexion series 700: a thresher followed by separation rotors.
- Axial rotor machines, such as Case IH Axial-Flow or New Holland CR: no transverse thresher; see the used complete rotor.
- Threshing technologies vary between brands, and sometimes even within a range: when in doubt, our advisors provide purchase support based on the manufacturer’s plate and serial number.
Price of a complete thresher and combine harvester purchase
We do not display prices for this family: the cost of a complete thresher depends on brand, machine model, beater wear, and shaft condition. Compared to a new thresher, the price gap remains significant, and even more so compared to buying a replacement combine harvester. The "Request a Quote" button on each product page gives you an exact price, and our TMC Bejenne advisors offer purchase assistance to verify compatibility; shipping is done throughout France on pallet, or collection at Naintré depending on the thresher size.
The price of a used combine harvester varies depending on the brand, age, operating hours, and cutting width. TMC Bejenne also offers used combine harvesters; when only the thresher is the issue, replacing it is significantly cheaper than purchasing a machine. Our advisors are available at 05 86 24 00 26.
Vibrations increase with speed, bearings heat up, beaters wear on one side: the balance is lost. Check the shaft play and clearance with the concave across the full width. On a John Deere as elsewhere, a single stone can warp the cylinder depending on soil conditions.
From a specialist in threshing parts who dismantles combines themselves, like TMC Bejenne: each complete thresher, original manufacturer’s equipment, comes from an identified machine and is inspected before sale. Call 05 86 24 00 26 with the exact brand and model; for a Case IH Axial-Flow, please ask for a complete rotor instead.
