Question 1

100 hp Flail Mower Bevel Gearbox: How to Choose the Right Used Part?

Accepted Answer

The choice depends on three parameters: the nominal power of the gearbox (expressed in hp or kW), the gear ratio (which sets the blade rotation speed), and the mounting dimensions (input shaft diameter, flange centers). Call +33 5 35 54 42 10 with your flail mower’s brand, model, and the reference visible on your original part. Our specialized technicians will identify a compatible gearbox from our stock.

Question 2

How to Identify My Gearbox Reference from an Exploded View?

Accepted Answer

The manufacturer’s exploded view shows the reference for each component. Locate the bevel gearbox on the diagram, note the original part reference, and call +33 5 35 54 42 10. Our technicians can also work from a photo of your part in place or your machine’s serial number to cross-check references.

Question 3

Repair or Replacement: What’s the Best Solution for a Damaged Gearbox?

Accepted Answer

Repairing a bevel gearbox (replacing bevel gears, bearings, or seals) is technically possible but requires significant workshop time and often expensive new parts. Replacing it with a tested used gearbox is frequently a faster and more cost-effective option, costing between 30% and 70% less than new. Contact our team at +33 5 35 54 42 10 to compare options for your situation.

Question 4

Do You Offer Gearboxes Compatible with Desvoys, Agram, or Comer Brands?

Accepted Answer

Our parts come from dismantling agricultural machinery of all brands. Depending on availability, we may have gearboxes originally mounted on Desvoys flail mowers or Agram shredders, or Comer gearboxes recovered from end-of-life equipment. Call +33 5 35 54 42 10 with your gearbox reference or machine model to check our stock.

Question 5

3-Point Mower Bevel Gearbox: What Specifications to Check Before Ordering?

Accepted Answer

For a 3-point mounted mower, the bevel gearbox must match your tractor’s PTO rotation direction, the input shaft diameter (6 or 21 splines), and the mounting dimensions of the cutter head. The gearbox’s nominal power should be at least equal to your tractor’s PTO power. Our technicians verify these parameters from your original part reference or your machine’s serial number. Call +33 5 35 54 42 10.
